Faculty Reach Tentative Agreement with CSU, Strike Called Off!

On Friday April 8, just says before our faculty were set to go on strike, a tentative agreement was announced between CFA and the CSU administration. The agreement (which still needs to be voted on, or ratified, by faculty across the CSU) will give faculty a 5% pay increase on June 30, 2016, a 2.5% increase the next day on July 1, 2016, and a 3.5% increase the following year on July 1, 2017. Overall that is a 10.5% pay increase over the next two years! Follow this link to find more details about the agreement.

Without students this victory would not have been possible. We played a HUGE role in putting pressure on Chancellor White to come back to the bargaining table. Our faculty could not have done this without us, and faculty leaders and activists throughout the CSU have been expressing how thankful they are for our work, and how ready they are to support us in our upcoming fights against tuition increases and our longer fight for a transparent and democratic CSU that provides a FREE, QUALITY, ACCESSIBLE education to all. The work is not over, it has just begun.
